Thank you Globals Make Some Noise

Thank you Globals Make Some Noise

Between 2016-2018 Daytrippers was awarded a very generous grant by ‘Globals Make Some Noise’, the official charity of media and entertainment group Global.

Our Chair of Trustees Leila Talmadge was invited to the Classic FM studios to receive what she thought was the £10,000 she applied for to support the Daytrippers events program for half a year. However, once the cameras were rolling Leila was presented with a massive cheque for £21,500 worth of funding over 2 years.

“I was speechless. It was the first significant moment when I felt real validation and support for Daytrippers from such a large external group. I clutched onto that giant cheque all the way back to the office with a huge grin on my face.”- Leila

Since then the funding has supported 7 bespoke inclusive events and 36 exciting day trips that took place across the UK, benefitting 2,317 children and young people with disabilities.

Daytrippers and Global's Make Some Noise

Over the past year you've helped to support Global's Make Some Noise, and today John Suchet is giving a donation to one of our amazing charities, Daytrippers.

The grant was allocated across 7 Daytrippers events from 2016-2018:

  • Ariel action at urban activity centre Challenge 4 Change in Manchester
  • Halloween Bowling Party in Acton, London
  • Private performance of the Aladdin Pantomime at Hammersmith’s Lyric Theatre
  • Backstage Sensory Touch Tours at ZSL London Zoo’s Special Children’s Day
  • Inclusive creative workshop at our special event “Diggin’ the Gallery” at the Tate Britain
  • Private day for SEND schools at Colourscape on Clapham Common
  • Private performance of the Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime at Hammersmith’s Lyric Theatre

A total of 27 groups were also able to provide their young people with unforgettable days out to places such as the London Eye, Chester Zoo, Beamish Museum, Greenwood Forest Park, Camden’s Pirate Castle, Bournemouth Beach and Legoland in Windsor.

We would like to express our huge gratitude to GMSN for their support – our work over the last 2 years would not have been possible without it. From 2016 to 2108 the generous pledge they made to Daytrippers enabled us to reach a record number of young people with disabilities while prompting inclusion, education and fun.

Thank you for believing in us and the work we do.
